The internship program is an unpaid apprenticeship program. However, there will be opportunities for compensation for work on specific projects of the Research Institute that require additional student labour. Second-year student interns will be given priority for paid projects.
Internships with the Research Institute are eligible to current students of the Dominica State College and require a minimum commitment of 5 hours per week during the regular semester to work and learn in the practice-based research environment of the Institute.
A certificate of completion will be awarded to students who successfully complete a minimum total of 150 hours during their tenure of study at Dominica State College. A special recognition ceremony will take place at the beginning of each academic year to recognize students who have completed the internship program during the previous academic year.
