Program Activities

Interns will work under the guidance and instruction of the Director on administrative, research and teaching tasks for a range of programmes and activities related to the Institute’s academic and community objectives. Interns report to the Director of the Research Institute via full-time administrative staff who coordinate their tasks and manage schedules and reporting.

Interns are expected to learn and apply research and writing and/or information and communication technology (ICT) skills to a variety of academic research projects (in digital and other formats). Interns are also expected to be available for assistance at Create Caribbean’s courses offered at Dominica State College, participate in the Create and Code technology education workshops for children, and participate in other programming and fundraising activities offered by the Institute.

Interns may also be asked to perform various administrative and support tasks to the Institute, particularly related to the dissemination of information about Create Caribbean’s calendar of events.

Priority majors for the internship program include (although other majors will be considered):

  • Tourism and Hospitality Studies
  • Business/Economics/Entrepreneurship
